Top 10 Albums of the Year

The Associated Press just put out its list of the ten best albums to come out this year....

1. Janelle Monae "ArchAndroid"
2. Kanye West "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"
3. Eminem "Recovery"
4. Sia "We Are Born"
5. R. Kelly "Love Letter"
6. Taylor Swift "Speak Now"
7. Sade "Soldier of Love"
8. Corinne Bailey Rae "The Sea"
9. Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs "God Willin' & The Creek Don't Rise"
10. Gorillaz "Plastic Beach"

I guess i can agree with the list, especially seeing how most of the music played on urban radio seemed to be dominated by artists who dropped albums in 2009.... (*cough* Trey Songs *cough* Usher)

I was a little dissapointed to see that Bruno Mars project didn't make the list. I felt his debut album Doo Whop's & Hooligans" was a strong first album. And even thouh Kanye's album made the list i thought Diddy's Dirty Money album deserves an honorable mention. It was def a collection of music that was different from a majority of stuff being played on the radio and it worked.

My top albums of the year list looks something like this:

8. Monica "Still Standing"
9. Dirty Money "Last Train To Paris
10. Drake "Thank Me Later"

Over all i'll give the year 2010 a 7 out of 10 when it comes to music. While there were some good releases unfortunatly a lot of stuff was buried in commercial garbage and politics.
