Gina and Pam a R&B Group?

Photobucket

Came across this article on singersroom.com. This one is def for all the fans of Martin!

The 90's produced some of the biggest and brightest R&B female groups of all time, including SWV, Brownstone, TLC and En Vogue. It was an exciting time where videos were chalk full of A-list models and entertainers. It was R&B's "golden era."

The 90's was also the golden era for sitcoms aimed at the urban market. Who would have thought years later we would have been overwhelmed by scripted "reality shows." We were spoiled with some great sitcoms such as "Family Matters," "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and "Martin."

"Family Matters" and "Fresh Prince" were great shows but "The Martin Show" had people falling over their seats laughing at characters such as Shanana and Dragon Fly Jones. But it was also Martin Lawrence's supporting cast that made the show flow so well. Gina (Tisha Campbell) and Pam (Tichina Arnold) were great actresses and gave "The Martin Show" so much spice. But imagine if these two queens of the 90's sitcom started an R&B group back then. I could be crazy but I think Pam and Gina could have been the Salt-n-Pepa of R&B. They could have been a pretty good group and here are a few reasons why:

Women It's YOUR FAULT Too!

Photobucket

I didn't say it.....

Tracy McMillan a tv writer just wrote an article for The Huffington Post entitled  "Why You're Not Married". It's aimed at women and let me just say i'm glad another woman said the things that she did instead of a man lol.

Since dating, relationships, sex and marriage is a big topic in our society i'm curious about the opinons of the women out there after reading this. Does Ms McMillan make some valid points in your opinion or is she just talking out her a$$?

A brotha i know summed it up this way after reading the article, "She may not have the answer to it all but she made a lot of good points". I have to agree with his opinon.....

Does It Always Have To Be Left Up to the Man?

Photobucket

Been doing some reading and i came across this post [Why Men Pop the Question]on CNN.com which examined why when it comes to propasals for marriage that it is left up to the man to do the action in a society that seeks gender equality. The author, Kay S. Hymowitz makes two main points:

1. it represents the reassertion, however brief, of repressed gender roles
2. Proposal lets men show they're thoughtful, loving, sincere, good potential mates

That last point got my mind going.....

Jazmine Sullivan Quits Music

Photobucket

Wow what a way for the recording industry to start off the new year!!!!

Jazmine Sullivan just announced via Twitter that she is leaving the music game for now.

Heres what she said:

Photobucket

"i’m making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music. i’m trying to figure out who i am… w/out a mike, paper or pen.
i promised myself when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am. i’m not saying i wont ever sing again in my life becuz i dont.
believe that. but in this moment… rt now… i got some things to figure out. i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much. u have no idea.
how much u’ve inspired me and fed my ego. but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what i’m lookin. for. that belief in myself. me. I. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue."

Wow, i def wasn't expecting this. I can't be mad at her though for trying to be true to herself and doing what she has to do cause lord knows this music game got more false faces than anything.

How are you feeling about it???
